Educator in the Workplace
Educators, counselors and relevant school personnel from member districts and educational entities throughout the Capital Region visit organizational sites connected to targeted and important industries to learn and better understand career opportunities.
Educators can develop key contacts for classroom presentations as well as future opportunities for students interested in internships or job shadowing. Four to five sessions are scheduled yearly, each from 4:30 pm – 7:30pm. Registration is FREE to our member districts and attendees are eligible to earn Act 48 credits.
Leadership Academy
Each June, educators have an opportunity to make new connections with employers throughout the region at our two-day Leadership Academy. The purpose of the Academy is to provide
K-12 educators and district personnel with experiences, tools and resources they need to help guide their students’ journey through career exploration and development.
Presenters share their strategies and experiences for developing successful partnerships. The Leadership Academy delivers professional development on the move. Academy participants meet with representatives from business and government through on-site visits that span the 16 career clusters.
The contacts made during the Academy can be valuable resources for classroom presentations and possible sources for student internships and job shadowing. Participants can earn up to 15 Act 48 credits at the Leadership Academy.
