PCD supports equitable and accessible Career Awareness & Preparation for all students. The framework has been laid, with the PA Chapter 339 guidelines, the Career Education & Work Standards (revised 1/24), and the Future Ready PA Index. But achieving those globally-aligned goals requires a significant investment in Pennsylvania.

A systemic approach is required to provide common metrics, develop common language, set vision, and assure fair funding is available for all students to obtain industry-recognized credentials, work-based learning opportunities, and Career & Technical Education prior to high school graduation.

Career Awareness & Preparation requires a state-level funding, supports, and a dedicated collaborative entity that is solely dedicated to this work.
